Her experience spans medicine, coaching, and advisory, with a strong focus on building meaningful connections.

Pip joins us with a solid track record of guiding leaders to grow with clarity and purpose. She approaches every engagement with thoughtfulness and enthusiasm, making her a natural fit for our mission and culture. We’re excited to have her on board.

From Medicine to Strategy Consulting: A Journey Fueled by Curiosity and Impact

Pip began her career as a medical doctor in the UK, drawn to the complexity of clinical challenges and the privilege of working closely with people during pivotal moments in their lives. However, her growing curiosity about the broader systems surrounding healthcare – how teams thrived, how leadership influenced outcomes, and where real levers for change could be found – led her to explore new career paths.

This curiosity eventually brought her to McKinsey & Company in London, where she advised clients across sectors on strategy, transformation, and organizational effectiveness. At McKinsey, Pip honed her ability to navigate complexity and drive change, particularly in understanding how the right leadership and support can unlock potential within organizations. It was this focus on people and leadership that led her to ghSMART.

A Warm and Joyful Start

Just minutes into our conversation with Pip, it was clear she had found her people. “I’m a hyper-extrovert,” she said, sharing how much she’s enjoyed the whirlwind of onboarding in her first month. Despite the challenges of transitioning, she’s embraced the experience with enthusiasm.

Pip lives in Godalming, UK, with her partner Daniel, who also has a globetrotting career, and their two young sons. “Life is very busy,” she says, with a smile that makes it sound exactly like the kind of busy she loves. Their household is a dynamic operation, complete with a nanny, an au pair, and even a “family work Christmas party.” It’s a chaotic but joyful environment, one that Pip wholeheartedly embraces. “We rely on each other, everyone has a role, and we laugh a lot,” she says.

Even with a busy home life, Pip finds time to build connections and engage deeply with others – a quality that will serve her well at ghSMART. “I really love people,” she shares.

“I thrive in environments where I get to engage with others, and that’s why I’m so excited about this work.”

Meaning, Connection, and Clarity

Pip is passionate about helping others make sense of their experiences, particularly leaders who are often too busy to reflect. “I love slowing things down just enough to create insight,” she explains. This desire to create moments of clarity is a theme that has run through her entire career, whether she’s coaching senior leaders, facilitating executive offsites, or teaching in the classroom.

“I enjoy watching the lightbulb go off when the right question is asked – it never gets old,” she says. This approach isn’t just theoretical for Pip – it’s something she practices both in her professional work and in her approach to life. Despite her busy schedule, Pip and her family prioritize “real-life moments” - shared meals and spontaneous silliness. “I like the mess of life,” she says. “That’s where the real stuff is.”

Values-Driven and Curious

Pip has always been motivated by a desire to align her work with her purpose. “I’ve always looked for meaning in my work – something that contributes positively to the world,” she reflects. ghSMART stood out to her because it’s a firm that combines rigor with a human-centered approach. “Everyone I spoke with was brilliant, but also genuinely thoughtful. They listened. They cared. That really resonated with me.”

Pip is also deeply curious, particularly about how people show up and move through the world.

“I’m interested in how people navigate life – not just what they do, but how they move through the world,” she says. She hopes to bring this holistic perspective to her clients and teammates at ghSMART.

A Supportive Start and Continuous Growth

When reflecting on her first few weeks at ghSMART, Pip chuckles and says, “It’s a lot! But it’s also great.” She appreciates the support she’s received, particularly from her buddy Julia, who started in Germany. “Having a buddy makes all the difference,” she says. “We supported each other through it all.”

Pip also values the firm’s culture of generosity. “Even with the high standards, people check in and offer help. There’s a real generosity of spirit here, and I really appreciate that,” she says. As she settles into her role, Pip is excited to deepen her client work and continue building relationships across the firm. “Everyone I’ve met here is sharp and kind – it’s a rare combination.”

Learning and Growing

Pip is committed to continuous learning, both for herself and for those she works with. “I don’t think I’ve written this much in the past two years,” she muses, referencing her recent SmartAssessment training. “But it’s stretching in the best way. I love that I’m still learning and growing every day.”

She’s looking forward to being challenged and partnering with clients who are making major decisions. “I know I’ll be pushed in a good way,” she says. “I’m excited to ask tough questions and learn through doing.”

Life in Full Color

Outside of work, Pip finds joy in the beautiful chaos of her home life, her community, and the energy of connection. “There’s always someone coming or going, always something happening. We thrive in that space – messy, human, vibrant. That’s where I’m happiest.”

Whether she’s corralling two toddlers for a muddy walk, collaborating with global leaders, or throwing a neighborhood gathering, Pip brings her full self to every moment. She’s thoughtful, joyful, driven, and open-hearted – a combination that makes her a wonderful addition to our team.
